We will be starting a new Calvary Chapel church plant in May, but the work has been going on down there for quite some time now, just on a more limited level. I have been teaching a Bible study down there since March 2006 and before that was involved with the local school's Christian Union. One of the things the Lord has begun to do is to start raising up a Timothy. I remember going along to help with an outreach that a church in his area was doing about three years ago. After the outreach Russ came up to me wanting prayer. He wanted to re-dedicate his life to the Lord. Since then, Russ and I had crossed paths now and again, and when we began the study in Ashtead, he became a regular.

One night I gave a message on discipleship from Luke's Gospel. I was explaining the need to be discipled and to disciple. Needless to say, since that day Russ and I have been meeting virtually every week having discipleship meetings. When the opportunity for me to go to Israel came up, Russ came with me and we had our first baptism of a member of the new Calvary Chapel starting. I baptized Russ in Israel in one of the most beautiful places I had ever been.
